Bar Drinks & Wine List

The ambience of our bar quickly adapts to your mood. Whether you want to read, talk, laugh or just day dream, you can just sit back in a soft comfy chair and relax within the congenial and welcoming ambience.

Our well stocked bar shines away from the mundane or average, instead of Gordon's Gin why not try a Hendricks with a twist. If you fancy a sherry, try a Manzania.

For each spirit we stock there are typically four or five different varieties of each to try. Whiskey aficionados can choose from sixteen styles taking in the cream of Irish blended and single malts.

Our Restaurant & Bars Manager has long had a passion about the products he offers and makes certain our bar has a unique and exciting selection of drinks.

Serving Pernoni lager on tap and our real ale is the award wining Tribute from St Austell in Cornwall.

We offer a comprehensive selection of non – alcoholic beverages which are made on our doorstep in Devon, The Luscombe drinks range are made with purely the finest quality fresh ingredients, without concentrates; additives; preservatives; colourants or flavourings.

We proudly stock continental lagers and real ale but our passion is for cocktails.

We take them seriously enough to offer seasonal listings featuring four excellent recipes, all guaranteed to contain the freshest local berries and fruits, as well as the "Browns Mojito" a drink that is perfect any time of the day or night. Made with fresh mint and Browns own sparkling well water – A particular favourite of our Restaurant Manager.

Our wines and champagnes here at Browns are individually chosen with the expertise of our local wine merchant, Charles Steevenson. The wine & champagne list offers something for everyone, from the classic French regions of Bordeaux and Burgandy to the rather quirky and interesting wines of the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon, this is a chance to try something new.

We understand the importance of wine's role, whether this be an accompaniment alongside a fine dining experience or a soothing glass to relax with in our lounges. We offer a range from the more traditional and popular, to the more eccentric wines, so that all tastes are met and an experience is had.

Charles Steevenson Wines also supplies our champagne selection and with their comprehensive portfolio of quality supplies we can assure you that your bubbly will elegantly blend well with those special occasions.

Whilst prices rarely stray above £20, our cellar is also stocked with some particularly fine vintage wines for occasions deserving something a little out of the ordinary.

I am not in the habit of writing reviews, but after spending a long-weekend in both Browns Tavistock and 22 Mill Street Chagford, I've felt compelled to do so! Both hotels manage to combine the extremely rare ability to be able to provide exceptional food, accommodation, with the best service imaginable. Always friendly, obliging and professional. The tasting menus are a must! The signature venison dish is worth traveling many-a-mile for, and we have. Its exceptional value too..............
I'd urge anyone looking for somewhere for a weekend retreat to visit either hotels, but be warned - you will not want to leave, and keep coming back! This is a unreserved and unconditional recommendation for an outstanding boutique hotel, with some of the finest food available!  A special thanks to John for the magic he creates in his kitchen, to Steve and Matt for there attention to detail and local knowledge! Thanks again, Dave Walsh & Danielle Martin
