MOTHER'S DAY CELEBRATIONS - SUNDAY 18TH MARCH AT BROWNS HOTEL

Mothering Sunday is your opportunity to show the Mum in your life how much you appreciate her and what better way to do it than with a relaxing lunch or dinner here at Browns Hotel? This is the day to spoil Mum and what better way to do that than by delighting her with a special treat of scrumptious food, Our Mother's Day celebrations have a number of options. Choose from a three-course lunch, an award wining five-course tasting menu or experience a traditional afternoon champagne tea.

    Browns presents dishes made with skill and flair using local produce of the season, herbs, vegetables and ingredients with provenance, treating your mother to a special 3 course Mothering Sunday lunch.

    Butternut squash velouté, pumpkin seed oil, nutmeg cream
    Potted ham hock, mustard pickles, brioche, apple, watercress
    Beetroot risotto, horseradish, shitake, pickled shallots, truffle
    Smoked salmon, clam chowder, cumin, parsnip

    Main Course

    Roast Devon venison, butternut squash, red cabbage, shallots, garlic
    Free range chicken, bubble & squeak, croquette, leeks, mustard
    Cornish sea bass, mussels, chorizo, beetroot, spinach
    Red onion, Sharpham brie tart, rocket, pesto, squash, gnocchi

    White chocolate & honeycomb mousse, biscotti, chocolate sorbet, yoghurt

    The Browns team were delighted to be awarded “Foodie Hotel of the Year” in January 2012, an accolade that demonstrates their dedication and levels of cooking skill. Head Chef, Mike Palmer will create a spectacular five course tasting menu with this very special occasion in mind.

    Champagne Afternoon Tea

    Spend a relaxed and informal afternoon of lounging and indulging with your mum. Spoiling her with afternoon tea treats such as freshly baked scones with clotted cream and preserves and delicate pastries together with a class of fizz!
    If the sun is out take a stroll into the courtyard and just spend precious time together.

    Traditional Afternoon Tea Accompanied by a Chilled Glass of Beaumont Champagne.

 Hi, i stayed in the hotel Thursday night whilst in the area for business. I am not normally in the habit of contacting hotels, but i think in this instance, it was a must.
Given i was travelling alone sometimes it can be boring and lonely however i must say all of the staff made me feel very welcomed and i felt like i had stayed with you on numerous occasions.
The dinner i enjoyed in the restaurant was tremendous, a real delight, compliments to the chef.
The hotel is a gem, and all of the nice little touches really do make a difference between the usual corporate hotels i am used to staying in.
I will definitely be back, - My wife is insisting on a trip later this summer!
