Phil Biggin of Browns Hotel and Glenn Duff of Jack Chams decided early in 2009 to set up a local representation of the Help for Heroes charity – this was kicked off in the Spring and included a raffle, a 20 mile walk across Dartmoor, sale of Help for Heroes goods and culminated in an evening of live music and entertainment at Jack Chams.

All the sponsorship and donations have now been collated and a total of over £5,000 has been raised for what is an ever-increasingly fantastic charity.

Tavistock Help For Heroes would like to thank The Tavistock Times for its support and coverage of the event, all the team who helped get this off the ground, all who took part in the walk and attended the event at Jack Chams and all who donated – this has been an amazing start to what we would like to believe will be a regular event here in the Town.

We would also like to put out a request for any volunteers to help us continue into 2010 with their ideas and help to run the events. Please contact either Glen or Phil - we would love to hear from you!
